UK government publishes 3rd Climate Change Risk Assessment

On January 17, the UK government released the 3rd Climate Change Risk Assessment (CCRA3), noting the scale of the ‘unprecedented’ challenge faced by the country. The 5-year assessment looked at both the work underway and the remaining gap in the transition to resilience. Key points raised included:

  • 5.2bn pounds in flood defenses
  • Strategy towards public-private financing
  • 2-degree pathway risks to the UK of 1bn pounds per year by 2050

The CCRA can be read here.
