Pemex to work with EPA to reduce methane emissions

In order to achieve ambitious international commitments, the Mexican government-owned oil corporation Pemex said it would collaborate with the American Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to cut greenhouse gas emissions, particularly methane. Pemex (PEMX.UL) announced that it would create and implement a plan in the first half of 2019 to help reduce these emissions with technical assistance from the EPA.

This partnership aims at:

  • Reducing methane emissions
  • Achieving the target of a 35% reduction in all its emissions by 2030
