Supporting the demand for renewable energy

Recently, John D. Powers, Schneider Electric’s Vice-President for global cleantech and renewables, attended the COP27 in Egypt on behalf of the company’s numerous business and industrial clients. Schneider represents more than 60TWh of the world’s demand for renewable energy, which is about equal to half of Egypt’s total electricity demand.

Powers contributes to the investigation of how public-private sector cooperation might aid in releasing the growing demand for renewable energy.

Some of the subjects covered included:

  • Important lessons from the COP27
  • Decentralization, infrastructural support, and a focus on renewable energy
  • Modifications to the advisory role
