New York City accelerates EV infrastructure plans for 2024

New York City’s charging capacity will receive a boost from new statewide Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure incentives. In November last year, New York state’s Public Service Commission (PSC) approved a historic EV infrastructure buildout program that increased its investments in EV charging throughout the state. Widespread charging facilities are critical to New York City’s ambitious plans for electrification.

The PSC orders are expected to dramatically alter New York city’s EV future by:

  • Updating EV charging funding programs
  • Incentivizing the development of larger charging projects
  • Operating massive fast-charging sites
