A platform to incubate start-ups with a focus on sustainability has been developed by MTR Lab, a division of Hong Kong’s train operator that invests in technology, to assist the city in being carbon neutral by 2050. The investment platform Co+Lab Initiative will look for early-stage businesses with technologies that may assist the train operator in creating a “carbon-neutral smart community.
The platform would be looking at creative solutions in the following areas under sustainability:
- green technology
- Use of eco-friendly building supplies
