Ford to build 500,000 EVs annually at its Tennessee campus

Automobile company Ford will be able to build 500,000 electric vehicles (EVs) annually at full production at its new plant being constructed outside Memphis, Tennessee. They plan to begin production with a next-generation electric truck named “T3”. Ford and South Korea-based battery supplier SK On are investing $5.6 billion in the project.

Ford’s plans for its BlueOval City electric vehicle and battery manufacturing campus in Tennessee include:

  • The plant will be home to the company’s second-generation electric truck
  • It will be a platform for endless innovation and capability
  • The facility plans to be capable of producing 2 million EVs in 2026.
